Citizens Advice

Denny & Dunipace Citizens Advice Bureau provides an information and advice service at Bonnybridge Community Centre on a Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. each week. If you would like an appointment to speak to a CAB Adviser, please contact Bonnybridge Community Centre on (01324) 503290.

Parish Church

A warm welcome is extended to all to join the morning service at 11 a.m. at Bonnybridge St Helen’s Parish Church. Prayer time takes place in the vestry from 10.30-10.45 a.m. every Sunday. Sunday School and Youth Group meets in the church hall at 10.50 a.m. The Kirk Session meets on Tuesday in the church hall at 7 p.m. A good attendance will be very much appreciated. A fundraising concert by the Caledonian Fiddle Orchestra from Glasgow takes place on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m, in the church. Tickets are £7 (includes light refreshments) and are available from Mary Logan on (01236) 603758 or from any member of the Kirk Session or Congregational Board.

Masonic News

There was a fine turnout of members and visitors at the first regular meeting of the new masonic season held in Lodge Dolphin No. 911 on Thursday, October 2. One candidate received the entered apprentice degree from the RWM Brother Craig Lamont and his team. There are still a few places available for the sportsman’s dinner to be held tomnorrow (Friday). The next meeting will be a second degree by the master and office-bearers of Lodge Abercromby No. 531 at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, October 16.

Braveheart Walks

Bonnybridge walkers leave from the Royal Hotel at 10.30 a.m. You have a choice of an hour walk or a slower 30 minute walk amongst many marvelous paths. Come along and meet our Walk Leaders and some welcoming faces, where you can enjoy a chat over tea and cake in the cafe afterwords. For more information call (01324) 673703.

Buggy Group

The Bonny strollers buggy group meet every Friday 1.15 p.m. at Bonnybridge Health Centre in Larbert Road. All welcome. All walks are free. For more information call (01324) 504556 or email stepforth@falkirkcommunitytrust.org.

Rural Meeting

The next meeting of Greenhill and District W.R.I. takes place on Monday, October 13, at 7.15 p.m. in the Masonic Temple, Bonnybridge. The speaker is a representative of the Bannockburn Heritage Centre.

Flu Day

Patients of Bonnybank Medical Practice and Antonine Medical Practice who will be 65 or over on or before March 31, 2015 or suffer from heart failure, diabetes, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema or have had a transplant any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., on Wednesday, October 29, are invited to attend the Flu Day to get their influenza vaccination.

Line Dancing

Next class takes place in St Helen’s church hall on Tuesday from noon-1 p.m. Beginners and improvers welcome.

Macmillan Fundraiser

A huge thanks to all who supported the Macmillan coffee morning held in Bonnybridge St Helens Parish Church on Friday, September 26. A total of £658 was raised and will be much appreciated by such a worthwhile charity.
