This year’s service takes place at the war memorial on Sunday at 12.30 p.m. Groups and organisations taking part in the procession should assemble at the Community Centre from midday. The procession will leave at 12.20 p.m. The service will be conducted by the Rev. George MacDonald of Bonnybridge St Helens Parish Church and Father Kevin Dow of St Joseph’s RC Church. Provost Pat Reid, along with representatives of the armed services, veterans and school pupils, will all be taking part in the service.
A warm invitation is extended to join the Remembrance Service on Sunday at 10.45 a.m. Prayer time takes place in the vestry at 11 a.m. and is open to all. Sunday School and Youth Group meet in the church hall at 10.50 a.m. A good attendance would be appreciated at the congregational board meeting on Tuesday, November 11 at 7 p.m, in the church hall. A fundraising concert for church funds by the Caledonian Fiddle Orchestra from Glasgow takes place on Wednesday, November 19 at 7.30 p.m. Tickets cost £7 (includes refreshments) are available from Mary Logan on (01234) 603758 or 07963511838.
Denny & Dunipace Citizens Advice Bureau provides an information and advice service at Bonnybridge Community Centre each Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. If you would like an appointment to speak to a CAB Adviser, please contact Bonnybridge Community Centre on (01324) 503290.
There was a large turnout of members and visitors at the last regular meeting held in Lodge Dolphin No. 911 on Thursday, October 16. One candidate received the fellowcraft degree from the RWM Brother Alistair Mackay and his team from Lodge Abercromby No. 531. The next meeting will be a Third Degree by the Depute Master at 7.30 p.m. tonight (Thursday). This will also be the election of office-bearers meeting.
The presentation dance will be held at the club on November 8 starting at 7 p.m. Tickets £3. Please note there is no meal. The ladies hosted a magnificent prize bingo, which raised the sum of £534. Thanks to all involved and all who supported it.

A total of £608 was raided at the prize bingo last Thursday, and a further £290 was donated by local businesses giving a total of £898 for Rachel House Children’s Hospice. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our local businesses. Another prize bingo is due to the generosity of local businesses. This will be held on Thursday, November 27 in Bonnybridge Social Club. Eyes down 7.30 p.m. All proceeds will again go to Rachel House.
Friendly Bonnybridge walkers leave from the Royal Hotel at 10.30 a.m. You have a choice of an hour walk or a slower 30 minute walk amongst many marvelous paths. Thanks to those who helped at the charity bowling days at Bonnybridge Bowling Club and prize bingo at Bonnybridge Social Club in aid of The Driving Force and Strathcarron Hospice. Special thanks to Robert Heeps, the Duncan family and the Shaw family for their generous donations and all their time. The grand sum of £5102 was raised, which was split between these two wonderful causes. A special effort was made by all concerned in this the 20th year of these events to raise much needed funds. Tom Horn would like to thank everyone involved, and to all who attend every year to make these days so worthwhile and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
The November meeting of the Institute will take place on Monday, November 10 at 7.15 p.m. in the Masonic Temple, Bonnybridge. The speaker for the evening will be a representative from Remnant Kings, Falkirk.
