*Braveheart Walks

Our devoted Dawson walkers meet every Wednesday outside Carron Co-op main entrance to start their walk at 10.30 a.m., finishing an hour later in Greggs for a tea and cake. If you would like to find out more information please call (01324) 673703 or our walk leader on (01324) 554897.

Parish Church

On Sunday the worship in Bainsford Parish Church is at 11 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Sarle conducting the service with the theme being ‘Do not be afraid’. Tea and coffee will be served in the hall after the service. Last Sunday, the worship in Bainsford Parish Church took the form of a special service of praise to make the retiral of Rev. Michael R. Philip. The Brightons Parish Church Praise Group provided the musical effect, with suitable and appropriate songs. During the service Mr Philip presented the following gift vouchers: Netta Boyd, Andrew Sarle, Ian Slater and James B. Irvine in appreciation of the service which they had given him during his 13 years. James C. Slater on behalf of the Kirk Session thanked Mr Philip for his devoted service. Millie Morrison presented Mr Philip with a cheque to mark his retiral. James B. Irvine, Clerk to the Deacon’s Court presented Michael’s wife Janice with a bouquet of flowers. Linda McAuslan and Paul Mitchell, the respective Captains of the Girls Brigade and the Boys’ Brigade, thanked Mr Philip for his good work and advice which he given to the two organisations. In conclusion, Mrs Elaine Finlay conductor of Brightons Parish Church Praise Group thanked Mr Philip for his kind invitation for them to attend this special service. In closing, Mr Philip thanked the congregation and friends for a very memorable occasion, extending an invitation to enjoy a snack lunch in the hall.

Job Club

Every Wednesday from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. in the Dawson Centre there is a Job Drop In Club which has been in operation for nearly three years, with the following facilities: free access to Job Centre website, help with CV benefits advice and support available. Fruit Barra

Every Friday, from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. in the Dawson Cafe (which is located in the Dawson Centre), you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables from your local farmer at reasonable prices.
