Parish Church

On Sunday, the worship in Bainsford Parish Church is at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew Sarle conducting when the theme being ‘A mixture of Readings and Carols - a set of alternative views of Christmas’. Tea and coffee will be served in the hall after the service. The traditional Watchnight Service will be at 11.30 p.m. preceded by refreshments and carols from 11 p.m. and will be conducted by the Rev. Andrew Sarle. On Sunday, December 28 there will be a joint service with St James Parish Church which will be held in Bainsford Parish Church at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 4 at 11.15 a.m. there will be a joint service at St James Parish Church. Please note the later start time. There will be no service at Bainsford for that Sunday only. Last Sunday, the Ladies Group gave a Christmas presentation with the theme being ‘The Flame of Peace – A World War 1 Christmas Reflection’. The following ladies received a lit candle from Dorothy Mailer which they placed on the table, namely, Jane Ballantyne, Morag Mochrie, Jean MacPherson, Millie Morrison, Betty Muirhead, Nan Smith, Marlene Thomson, Emily Watson and Wilma Weir. This was followed by the singing of ‘Still the Night’ with the Rev. Andrew Sarle singing the first verse in German.

Job Club

The Job Drop-in club which meets every Wednesday in the Dawson Centre will be off on both December 24 and 31. The club will restart on Wednesday, January 8, from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. For any information contact Alan Bald on (01324) 501470.

Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. If you are interested in volunteering at all please call or ask at collection. The AGM is on Thursday, January 29 at 6.45 p.m. within the Youth & Community Wing, Abbots Road, Grangemouth.

BA Bowlers

The Burns Supper will be held on Tuesday, January 13 at 7 p.m. Tickets priced £12 can be ordered by contacting Allan on (01324) 628031.

Bowling Club

The Christmas dance takes place this Saturday at 8 p.m. There are still places available for any member who wishes to come. There is a sheet up in the clubhouse for the Hogmanay Party, can members please append names for some idea of numbers. There is also a sheet for the Burns Supper which takes place on Saturday, February 14

Braveheart

Devoted Dawson walkers meet every Wednesday outside Carron Co-op main entrance to start their walk at 10.30 a.m. finishing an hour later in Greggs for tea and a cake. Head along and find out which route you will take this week. Our Dawson walk will be off on both December 24 and 31, but feel free to still go a walk if you wish.
