Get Fit

The Dawson Centre is starting a new summer fitness programme. Get Fit for Summer starts on April 28, and various classes are on offer including pilates, bootcamp and zumba. The first three weeks of classes are free and then £1 afterwards. For more information or to book, call (01324) 501470.

Suicide Support

A support group for people bereaved by suicide meets on an informal basis on the last Monday of each month from 6 to 8.30 p.m. The group welcomes everyone who has experienced the loss through suicide of a person close to them. The group facilitators participate in groups and are experienced counsellors. The group meets in Falkirk District Association for Mental Health (FDAMH), 173 Victoria Road, Falkirk. Credit Union

Savings are safe with Falkirk District Credit Union and low cost loans are available once regular savings established. Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. Braveheart Walks

Our Dawson walk was chosen as Walk of the Month!! Our sociable walkers meet every Wednesday outside Carron Co-op main entrance to start their walk at 10.30 a.m., finishing an hour later at the cafe, for a chat over a cup of tea (and perhaps a cake). Parish Church

On Sunday, the worship in Bainsford Parish Church is at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Andrew Sarle preaching and the Reverend Michael R. Philip giving support with the theme being “Easter Sunday”. The Kirk Session will meet at 10.45 a.m. Tea and coffee will be served in the hall after the service. The congregation and friends are invited to St James Parish Church to celebrate Holy Communion tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. The Good Friday service will be held in Bainsford Parish Church tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30 p.m.

Country Dancing

Take the floor at Bainsford Parish Church hall, Smith Street, for Scottish Country Dancing each Thursday at 7.30 p.m. New members very welcome.

Job Club

Every Wednesday, from 10 a.m till 1 p.m. in the Dawson Centre, there is a Job Drop in Club which has been in operation for nearly three years, with the following facilities: free access to Job Centre Web site; help with CV benefits advice and support available. Fruit Barra

Every Friday from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. in the Dawson Cafe (which is located in the Dawson Centre), you can buy fresh fruit and veg from your local farmer at reasonable prices. Senior Citizens

The Carron Connect Partnership has organised a Tea Dance which will be held in the Bainsford Community Centre in aid of SOFIA Project for Senior Citizens on Sunday from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. Entry fee is £1.
