The birth of baby Luke Harrower from Reddingmuirhead

THE PARENTS: Mother Caroline is a full-time mum and helps run the Polmont Brestfeeding Group at the moment, while dad Martin is an IT consultant. Both are aged 35. They have another daughter Jessica (2) and the family lives in Reddingmuirhead in the Braes.

THE PREGNANCY: Caroline had a good pregnancy with no major worries. She also attended Lazy Daisy classes throughout for gentle exercises and birthing education which she would highly recommend for all expectant mums to make life a bit easier as the months go on.

THE BIRTH: Caroline had a water birth which she would also recommend. She wasn’t sure if she’d like it but said it was amazing and very comfortable as the water supports you.

THE BABY: Luke is a great baby and is happy being breastfed. He’s fair putting on the weight, loves smiles and has plenty for big sister Jessica and dad when he makes funny noises at him.

THE NAME: The ‘Force’ is strong with young Luke. Mum and dad are both massive ‘Star Wars’ fans and named him after rebel saviour Luke Skywalker.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Proud grandparents are Caroline’s mum and dad May and Norman Bird and Alan and Patricia Harrower.

THANKS: To the Poppy midwife team, all family and friends, midwife Linda and friend Carolann McCarren.
