Catch up with Falkirk folk in far flung places
WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY? Larbert.
WHERE ARE YOU NOW? Frankfurt, Germany.
WHY ARE YOU THERE? I moved after accepting a job here.
WHAT DO YOU DO? I work as a copywriter in the marketing side of the videogames industry - first with Nintendo and now with a company called Crytek.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN THERE? Just under five years.
FAMILY? I’m married to Katy and we have one son, Finn, who was born in Frankfurt in 2010.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE NOW? The comparatively warm weather, outdoor café culture and the fact it’s in such a central location in continental Europe.
ANYTHING YOU DON’T LIKE? My lack of language skills occasionally leave me high and dry.
BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THERE AND HERE? I think you’re more likely to strike up a conversation with a stranger in Scotland. Which can obviously be a good or a bad thing!
WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST FROM HOME? Sea, hills and good Indian food – all are quite elusive in Germany.
ANY MESSAGE FOR FAMILY AND OLD FRIENDS? Wherever you lay your towel, that’s your sun lounger!
