Barbara Bryceland was a member of Team Tom in the first series of BBC One’s ‘The Voice’ in 2012 after being selected by the Welsh singing legend.

Although she didn’t win, the glamorous gran said she had a great time being mentored by Sir Tom.

The legendary superstar will play Rock the Stadium on Saturday, August 1 – the only Scottish date on his European tour.

Yesterday (Wednesday) Barbara said: “Like so many people, I’m ecstatic Sir Tom is going to be playing Falkirk Stadium.

“He is an absolute legend. All the time I was with him he was a very classy man, but also very down to earth.”

Although the popular cabaret singer has a packed schedule in coming months, she said that she would love for a reunion of Team Tom.

She added: “I would support him in a second. He is fabulous to work with.”

Sir Tom Jones is the latest in a series of top performers to play gigs organised by Rock the Stadium, Falkirk Football Club’s events company.

He follows Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart, Status Quo and Ronan Keating.

Barbara said it was a tremendous boost for the area to be able to attract artistes of this calibre.

She said: “Falkirk is definitely on the up. I’ve lived her for over 30 years and things are definitely bright. To have people like Sir Tom and Rod Stewart playing within walking distance of so many people’s homes is amazing.

“It shows how well supported the stadium concerts are – and it’s good that Falkirk people don’t always have to travel through to Edinburgh or Glasgow to see top acts.”

When the Falkirk concert was announced, Sir Tom said: “Coming to Scotland will be a highlight as I have fond memories of past Scottish concerts and the fans always make me welcome.”

Tickets, priced from £37, go on sale tomorrow (Friday) at 10 a.m.

They can be obtained online at www.ticketline.co.uk; by phoning 0844 888 9991; or from the Falkirk Stadium ticket office.

After almost half a century in the business, Sir Tom Jones is still receiving rave reviews for his recorded work and also his concert performances with his most recent albums, ‘Spirit in the Room’ and ‘Praise & Blame’ getting critical acclaim.

Sir Tom Jones was knighted by HM The Queen in 2006. Other career highlights include BRIT awards for Best Male and Outstanding Contribution to Music, a Silver Clef award for Lifetime Achievement, GQ Man of the Year and the prestigious UK Music Industry Trust Award.
