A TEENAGER had to be freed from an air vent after attempting to sneak into a busy town centre pub.
Mark Scobbie (19) was found with his naked lower torso hanging from the vent in the kitchen of Behind the Wall in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Melville Street pub was still busy with Saturday revellers when barman Lewis Stewart walked p
ast the kitchen area and noticed the intruder hanging around 10 feet off the ground.
Owner Brian Flynn said: "He seems to have squeezed himself into the vent from the roof and then into the shaft that leads into the kitchen area.
''The man was trying to get out of his clothes in order to wriggle free from the vent.
"His face was squeezed up against a hatch and covered in grease."
Staff called the emergency services and Scobbie was cut free by the fire brigade who attended along with police and paramedics.
Mr Flynn added: "The bar was still open at the time but had to close due to the emergency situation. There was around 300 to 400 people in the building at the time.
"The ventilation system in the kitchen is now out of commission. We don't know the full cost of the damage yet, but there's also loss of earnings from having to close early to consider."
Scobbie, of 12 Woodside Gardens, Brightons, appeared from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday and pled guilty to being found in the vicinity of the Falkirk establishment without lawful consent.
His case was deferred by Sheriff Desmond McCaffrey until July 16 and he was granted bail.
