AN ELDERLY man died in hospital four days after being involved in a road accident.
The 79-year-old, named by Central Scotland Police as Daniel Thomson of Falkirk, was critically injured in the incident which occurred around 5.30 p.m. last Thursday on Westburn Avenue, Falkirk, close to the site of the new Falkirk High School.

He was in collision with a westbound blue Vauxhall car.

Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was rushed to Stirling Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

The occupants of the Vauxhall were uninjured.

Police closed the road for around four hours while they carried out investigations.

A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman confirmed a report on the incident had been sent to the Procurator Fiscal in Falkirk.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact their nearest police office or call (01324) 634212.
