ROADWORKS in Camelon have been branded a ''disgrace'' and ''poorly planned'' by a councillor.
Extensive work is being carried out in Wilson Avenue, with pavements and roads dug up to lay new gas piping.

Workmen have erected fencing on one side of the pavement and the opposite side is being used by residents to park their cars, proving a headache for pedestrians.

Councillor Gerry Goldie thinks the roadworks have been badly planned.

"The state of Wilson Avenue and the surrounding roads is a disgrace.

The pavements have been torn up and there's nowhere for pedestrians to walk. Even if they cross to the opposite pavement, there's usually cars and vans parked there, leaving them nowhere to walk except the road.

"With all the obstacles, the road is now very narrow and it's only a matter of time before an old person or a child is knocked over trying to pass the roadworks."
