A CALL centre company has announced it is to create 100 new jobs.
Telecom Services Centres (TSC) currently employs 700 at Larbert's Central Business Park.

Thanks to a new contract with mobile phone giant T-Mobile, it needs to increase its workforce to promote the company's latest ''walking web'' technology.

T
he news comes just days after the loss of 900 call centre jobs in nearby Cumbernauld.

TSC's announcement of the massive jobs boost was warmly greeted.

Falkirk Council leader, Councillor Linda Gow, said: "There can be no better news than jobs coming into the area.

"I'm pleased for Falkirk and for the company."

Michael Matheson, Falkirk West MSP, also welcomed the announcement.

He said: "I believe this demonstrates the company's commitment to the district. It is very welcome news."

Linda Holden, TSC's group HR director, said: "TSC is already a major employer in the area.

"This new work will create an extra 100 jobs – a huge contribution at a time when there seems to be so much negative employment news elsewhere.

"We are very pleased at the quality of personnel we employ in our Larbert business park centre and look to continue that level of excellence with our new recruits."

She added: "TSC has been a major and beneficial part of the community since we started here.

"We are delighted we can bring more employment and job security into the area and look forward to continuing our positive influence."

Today's Vote

Do you think the NHS is equipped to serve us for another 60 years?
Yes - we will have a free health service throughout this century and beyond.
No - the NHS will crumble in half that time and we'll soon have to pay for health care like the Americans
