Bonnybridge housing and sports development aims for approval

DEVELOPERS are ready to try again to win approval for a massive building project in the countryside.

Nearly 67 acres of farmland on the outskirts of Bonnybridge has been earmarked for housing and sports use by the Antonine Property Developments Group.

The ambitiious scheme has massive support from the community, but is now in limbo after Falkirk Council failed to reach a decision on outline planning permission.

The sheer scale of the project split the council over the impact it might have and led to a 15-15 vote. That left the application officially undetermined – and the decision by Antonine Developments, which now the backing of a major national housebuilder, to make another
bid to have its plans for Falkirk Road approved.
