The wedding of Christine Morrison and Grant Thomson

THE COUPLE: Grant (32) is originally from Brightons and works with Glasgow City Council. Christine (30) is from Westhill in Aberdeenshire and works in Falkirk as a welfare rights officer. The couple now live in Glasgow.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met on December 21, 2007. They both worked for Glasgow City Council and started an office romance. They had their first date in Glasgow’s West End.

THE PROPOSAL: Grant proposed on the first night of the couple’s holiday to Gothenburg in October 2009. He said Christine had no idea as he was always telling her he was too skint to get married. But Grant proposed with a beautiful ring and Christine was delighted to accept.

THE WEDDING: The wedding was held at Norwood Hall in Aberdeen on Sunday, March 6. There were 100 guests during the day and then a further 40 guests for the evening reception.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Christine’s bridesmaids were her friend Fara Wilson and Grant’s younger sister Tyne Hunter. Grant’s best man was his brother Glenn Thomson. The ushers were Grant’s friends, Graeme Phillips and Steven MacKrell, his brother-in-law Al Hunter and Christine’s brother Steven Morrison. The page boys were Grant’s nephews Brodie Thomson (5) and Jake Thomson (3).

THE DRESS: Christine wore a diamond white Maggie Sottero A-line gown with detail on the bodice, sleeves and a lace train.

THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent a few days after the wedding in Aviemore but the main honeymoon will be at Christmas when the couple will travel to Las Vegas and New York.
