There can’t be many Falkirk people who have not long admired this exceptional traditional villa on Camelon Road.
And for its current owner Robert Kerr, the house was just perfect.
From the splendid entrance hall, to the feature bay windows, stylish kitchen and cool cinema room, this house doesn’t disappoint.
Tastefully decorated, the house also boasts an abundance of space in all its public rooms and bathrooms, and also has subtle technical touches that make for a great family home.
Mr Kerr said: “It is a beautiful house with a lovely frontage and it’s great that four out of the five bedrooms are en suite.
“It also has lovely secluded garden ground, a cinema room, and there’s even a TV with heated screen in the bathroom.
“It was really the quality of the house that attracted me to it, and it just ticked all the boxes.
“It also has a lot of history behind it, and is in a beautiful location.
“We were looking for a house like this, but didn’t find it in Glasgow.
“I think a house like this in Glasgow would cost over £1 million, but with the new road, I can be in my office in Glasgow city centre in about 25 minutes.
“I think I can get there quicker from here than I did when I lived in Glasgow.”
Built in the 1920s by renowned industrialist Walter Alexander, the founder of what’s now Alexander Dennis Bus Builders Ltd, Cleveleys, though now modernised, is packed with character.
Mr Kerr added: “It was a very well maintained house when we bought it, but we still did a few things to it.
“We decorated, fitted a central vacuuming system which are very popular in America and we upgraded the alarm but didn’t really need to do too much else.”
Cleveleys, 13 Camelon Road, Falkirk, is featured in the current edition of The Falkirk Herald and is on the market with Clyde property at offers over £630,000. For more information, contact (01324) 881777.
