British Legion clubs across the district hold a vast array of events which bring back many special memories for people from down the years.
Isabella Strathie from Laurieston and her family used to frequent the Polmont branch in Brightons where many a fine time was had by the members and visitors.
She said: “This photo was taken in 1943 at a Burns supper. My grandad Robert Henderson was the secretary of the club. My granny Isabella is in the picture.
“I remember the Polish troops from St Margaret’s used to attend the Saturday night dances and Davy Dick used to do his whistling act at the interval. Geordie Cooper and his band played there too.
“At the bar there was no alcohol in those days, only bottles of orange at 4d were drunk with lots of crisps and nuts.”
