Memories from bygone eras of life in Westquarter are wanted by the community’s latest generation.
Primary one pupils from the village’s primary school are researching the history of Westquarter and Redding and would like older residents from the area, or those who have moved to other areas, to help them out.
Teacher Gillian Downie said: “We would like anyone who has memories, photographs or videos of Westquarter’s and Redding’s past to contact us.
“These could include any stories passed down through generations.
“The things the children are learning about are the early days of the model village, memories of being at Westquarter Primary School, the Redding Pit, Westquarter glen and gala days.”
