Dave Lapsley remembers his footballing days at Graeme High School along with a couple of legends of the game.

Dave (66) sent in this photo of the school’s team in 1960 which featured Hibs legend John Blackley. He also played alongside the late Dundee United favourite Frank Kopel, who sadly passed away in April.

Pictured are, back row (l-r): Alex Rennie, John Blackley, Fraser Cooper, Jim Stewart, Jimmy Scott, Sandy Richmond, Martin Ryan. Front: Ronnie Yanowiz, Chick Smith, Wilson Hoggan, Chick Wilson, Raymond Sneddon, Roy Leitch.

Dave said: “I was hospitalised and missed a school season so I remained at Westquarter school for another half season before going to Graeme High and was in the same class as Frank Kopel and we played in the 1961/62 team.

“I still see John Blackley fairly often.”
