The wedding of Suzanne Hart and Gavin Murdoch
HOW THEY MET: Gavin and Suzanne both went to Falkirk High School, but only got together four years ago when they bumped into each other on a night out in Falkirk.
THE PROPOSAL: Gavin took Suzanne to the Champany in Linlithgow for a romantic meal in February 2013 and popped the question after dinner.
THE WEDDING: The couple had a humanist service on October 3, 2014 at Murrayshall House Hotel in Scone in front of 120 guests. A further 65 guests joined them at Murrayshall in the evening. The day was perfect, but went by far too quickly.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Suzanne had five bridesmaids, friend Pauline Arnott was her maid of honour, along with friends Rachel Peebles, Sarah Gokcen, Heather Coop and Katy Davenport. The best man was friend Alan Miller, and ushers were friends Chris Cooper, Graeme Irvine, Steven McFarlane and Ben Addison. Suzanne’s cousin’s sons Michael(7) and Jon (3) Bruce were pageboys.
THE DRESS: Suzanne wore Maggie Sottero’s ‘Emma’ dress in ivory which had a sweetheart neckline, lace overlay and beaded belt.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple enjoyed two amazing weeks in Bali.
THANKS: To Suzanne’s parents Ivor and Marlene Hart and Gavin’s mum Ruth Murdoch who made the day possible, and Gavin’s sister Stephanie Murdoch for making the amazing cake. Thanks also to all guests who attended as well as the wedding party for their help before and on the day and to Suzanne’s friend Shelley Maxwell for doing the bridal party’s hair, Suzanne’s cousin Lauren Hart for singing during the ceremony and Gavin’s friend Ben Addison and Suzanne’s cousin Catherine Bruce for doing readings.
