The wedding of Tracy Laird and Neil Thomson
THE COUPLE: Tracy is 28, and a civil servant from Fallin, and Dunipace’s Neil is 28 and an active schools co-ordinator. The newlyweds live in Dunipace.
HOW THEY MET: Tracy and Neil first met at the Fubar in Stirling. Tracy was with friends celebrating her 21st birthday and Neil was on a night out with his friends.
THE PROPOSAL: Neil popped the question at 9 a.m. on November 10, 2012. The couple were enjoying a break in a log cabin when Neil woke Tracy up, down on one knee. A surprised and sleepy Tracy was over the moon.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on January 18, 2014. Around 160 guests attended the service at Dunipace Parish Church and 280 guests celebrated with the couple at Airth Castle at night. The couple loved the entire day which took place on what would have been Neil’s late father’s 70th birthday.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Tracy’s bridesmaid and bridesman were childhood friends Adele Kerr and Gavin Martin. The best men were Billy Kay, Neil’s cousin and friend David Jack. The ushers were Grant Hendrie, Kenny Deuchar and Tracy’s brother William. The flower girl was Charlie McAllister and the page boy was Dax Deuchar.
THE DRESS: Tracy wore an ivory Ronald Joyce gown with detailing on the straps, back and waist.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent five days in Floria, a week on a Caribbean cruise and a few days in New York.
