The wedding of Susan O’Donnell and Mark Horn
THE COUPLE: Susan (40) is a midwife at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, and Mark (42) is a business analyst in Stirling. The newlyweds live in Falkirk.
HOW THEY MET: The couple first met at Susan’s sister’s 21st birthday party in 1992. They dated on and off, but became a couple again in 2003.
THE PROPOSAL: Mark asked Susan to marry him in October during a trip to South Queensferry. The couple were enjoying time away with their son, Nathan (9).
THE WEDDING: The couple were married on June 21, 2014 at St Bernadette’s Church in Larbert. There were 100 guests for the ceremony and a total of 130 at an evening reception at the Inchyra. Susan said that the day were perfectly, with everything just as it should be.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Susan’s bridesmaids were her sister Clare Stirling and her friend Alison McBride. The best man was Mark’s brother Johnny with the couple’s son Nathan as ring bearer. Ushers were Susan’s brother-in-law David Stirling alongside the couple’s nephews Ryan Stirling (11) and Freddie Horn (9).
THE DRESS: Susan wore a Ronald Joyce gown purchased from Oliva Cameron in Laurieston. It had a lace top with three-quarter length sleeves and a sparkly belt.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent five days in Paris after the wedding and are planning a family holiday later in the year.
THANKS: The couple wish to thank both sets of parents - Catherine and Eddie O’Donnell and May and Richard Horn - for all their help and support. Thanks also to Susan’s aunt Isabel O’Donnell who made the wedding cake.
