The wedding of Savanna Scobbie John Jeffrey
THE COUPLE: Savanna (28) is a civil servant from Falkirk and John (33) a construction worker. The couple have two children and live together in Grangemouth.
HOW THE MET: The couple first set eyes on each other at the Carron Works in Bank Street, Falkirk, on a fateful Sunday afternoon six years ago.
THE PROPOSAL: John proposed to Savanna on her birthday back in 2009. “He sent me a birthday card addressed to ‘my fiancee’ and put the engagement ring in the envelope,” said Savanna.
THE WEDDING: The big day took place on May 23 in the Burgh Halls, Linlithgow, with 94 guests in the morning and 145 at night. Savanna said: “It was a fantastic day and such a good night we kept putting the taxi taking us to the Grange Manor back an hour. We didn’t want it to end.”
THE WEDDING PARTY: Savanna’s chief bridesmaid was Joanne Baillie, bridesmaids were Steph Scobbie, Siobhan Cunningham and Rickie Dixon. John’s best men were Elky and David Jeffrey and his ushers were Thomas Scobbie and James Baillie. Page boys were the couple’s children Kai (9) and Riley (2) and the flower girls was Bella-Mae Scobbie (1).
THE DRESS: Everyone commented on Savanna’s stunning Venus Bridal Dress which was not the traditional white colour.
HONEYMOON: The couple will be going to Majorca for 10 days in July with their boys and Savanna’s parents, who will be available for babysitting duties.
THANKS: The couple thank Savanna’s parents from the bottom of their hearts for all the support and also Auntie Heather and Traci Donnelly.
