The wedding of Richard Stevenson and Marion Sim

THE COUPLE: Richard (39) is originally from Whitburn and is a chef. Marion (41) is from Bo’ness and is a manager for Wetherspoons working in Grangemouth’s Earl of Zetland pub. They now live in the Middlefield area of Falkirk.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met five years ago on a night out in Bo’ness at Club Fisons. Both were with friends and when Marion asked Richard for a light it sparked the flames of romance.

THE PROPOSAL: Richard chose his moment well, even if the location was a bit different. Marion had just came out of an operation at Stirling Community Hospital three years ago when her man popped the question in the traditional way of down on one knee.

THE WEDDING: The happy couple were married at The Vu near Bathgate on September 15 with 100 guests. The weather was horrendous but it didn’t dampen the day at all. They stayed the night in one of the venue’s log cabins which Marion said are absolutely beautiful.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Marion’s best friend Sharon Gardener was bridesmaid and Richard’s best man was his brother Blair Wood. Sharon’s grandchildren Lauren and Maddison Morrison were flower girls. Richard’s other brother Kyle was an usher.

THE DRESS: Marion’s dress was a Mori Lee design from KC Bridal Specialists in Falkirk with a fitted corset top, diamantes and a long, sweeping tail.

THE HONEYMOON: As Marion had just started a new job the couple haven’t been one yet but are going to Egypt next year.

THANKS: The couple would like to thank all their family and friends for sharing their special day and staff at The Vu for the excellent service they provided.
