The wedding of Nicola Mullane and Billy Cairney
THE COUPLE: Nicola (33) is from Stirling and is a management accountant with Network Rail, while Billy (31), who’s also from Stirling, is a chef at the Railway Inn. The couple live in Dennyloanhead
HOW THEY MET: Nicola used to do the accounts for the restaurant Billy worked at in Alloa four years ago.
THE PROPOSAL: Billy popped the question while at dinner last August. The couple’s son had just turned two, but the birthday wasn’t the only reason to celebrate.
THE WEDDING: The wedding took place on April 28 at Glenskirlie Castle in Banknock. There were 60 guests during the day and a total of 120 in the evening. Nicola said the day was brilliant and went very smoothly after a lot of the organisation was undertaken by the groom. Nicola said her highlight of the day was when Billy, who’s a great singer, sang ‘Have I Told You Lately’ to her.
THE WEDDING PARTY: The maid of honour was Marian Anderson and Nicola’s bridesmaids were Julie McCann, Sandra McGregor, Vicky Lamb, Jamie-Leigh McGregor, and Sydney Neilson. The best men were Kevin Campbell and Robert Grant, while the ushers were Blair McGregor, David McGregor and Robert Harrower. The page boys were the couple’s son, two-year-old Harry, Logan Neilson and Zac McGregor.
THE DRESS: Nicola wore a princess gown from the designer Mori Lee. She bought the dress from Pamela Jayne Bridal in Bonnybridge.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds hope to get away in September.
THANKS: Thanks go to Nicola’s mum and step-dad, Linda and Matt Fisher, Billy’s mum Gladys McGregor, and Billy’s brother David McGregor.
