The wedding of Moira Struth and Chris McCreath
THE COUPLE: Moira (30) is from Larbert and is an accountant in Edinburgh, while Chris (30) is from Head of Muir and works for East Dunbartonshire Council. The newlyweds live in Falkirk.
HOW THEY MET: The couple met through mutual friends at a party in 2002.
THE PROPOSAL: Chris popped the question in March. The couple were in Edinburgh for a weekend for Chris’s birthday, and the proposal took place at the George Hotel where Chris presented the engagement ring. Moira was really surprised and delighted to accept.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on July 20 at the Grange Manor. There were 100 guests during the day and around 20 more family and friends joined the celebrations at night. Moira said the day went amazingly well and the couple enjoyed glorious weather. Moira added that her highlight of the day was seeing everyone enjoying themselves. She also said that, unlike most brides, she found the day really relaxing and stress-free.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Moira’s bridesmaid was her sister Fiona Struth and the best man was Chris’s older brother, Jonathan.
THE DRESS: Moira’s dress was an ivory gown with sparkles and lace cap sleeves.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent five days in Rome. The couple had always wanted to go and thought the honeymoon was the perfect opportunity.
THANKS: Thanks to both sets of parents – Margaret and Charlie Struth and Margaret and John McCreath. Thanks also to the registrar, Janet Rodgers, and everyone who helped make the day so special.
