The wedding of Maria-Claire Paterson and Scott Laing
THE COUPLE: Maria-Claire (24) is a domestic assistant at Strathcarron Hospice and Scott (30) is a machine operator. The couple live in Denny.
HOW THEY MET: They met at their former local pub, The Pines in Denny, over four years ago after being introduced by mutual friends.
THE WEDDING: Maria-Claire and Scott were married on July 4, 2014, at St Alexander’s Church in Denny followed by a reception at the Three Kings in Wester Shieldhill. The day was faultless and although the weather wasn’t on their side there is nothing they would change about their day.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Maria-Claire had five bridesmaids, sisters Joanna and Nadia Paterson, cousin Adele Smart and friends Natalie Kane and Rebecca McCrae. Best men were Kevin Gray and Ryan Hay and ushers Aiden Hay (13), Ciaran Hay (9) and John Crossley. Flowergirl was four-year-old Lucy Beveridge.
THE DRESS: Maria-Claire fell in love with a Mori Lee design in the window of Pamela Jayne Bridal in Bonnybridge. It was the first dress she tried on and was exactly what she was looking for – a full skirt with a V-neck and crystal embellishments.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent two weeks in Benalmadena in Spain. The first week was just the two of them and the second week, 18 of their family and friends flew out to join them.
THANKS: Thanks to Maria-Claire’s parents Donald and Maria Paterson for all their help. The couple would also like to thank Carole Mowatt for doing dress alterations, Father Pat at St Alexander’s Church for marrying them and all the staff at The Three Kings for their excellent service.
