The wedding of Lynne Hoggan and Sam Miller
THE COUPLE: Lynne (29) is a radio presenter with Bauer Radio and is from Slamannan. Sam (30) is a senior aircraftsman with the RAF in Cyprus and is from Perth. The couple live in Falkirk.
HOW THEY MET: Lynne and Sam shared mutual friends on Twitter and got Tweeting. They met up when Sam returned to the UK.
THE PROPOSAL: Sam planned to propose on his 30th birthday during a nice meal but Lynne was called into work. He decided to go ahead with his plan and got down on one knee in the studio while Lynne was playing a song. Lynne said: “I was totally gobsmacked. He’d been acting very weird all day but I had no idea it was because he planned to propose.”
THE WEDDING: The couple were married three months after Sam proposed, on January 4, 2014, at Broomhall Castle in Stirling in front of 28 guests with a further 200 joining them for the reception. The day had a Mad Hatters Tea Party theme with a homemade feel.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Lynne’s brother William (27) gave Lynne away and bridesmaids were Natalie Miller-McCaskill, Leigh Kerr, Lisa Wilkinson and Louise Sellstrom. Best men were Kevin Miller and Ross Park and Sam’s nephew Hamish Miller was ring bearer.
THE DRESS: Lynne wore a vintage style ankle-length, off-the-shoulder dress with a full skirt. Friend Emma Gilvear made her pearl hairpiece.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent a few days at Cameron House beside Loch Lomond and will jet off to Las Vegas and New York in the summer.
