The wedding of Katie Robertson and Stuart Anderson
THE COUPLE: Katie (24) comes from Slamannan and works as a hairdresser in the local area. Stuart (23) also comes from Slamannan and works as a steel fixer. The couple live together in Slamannan with their one-year-old daughter Evie.
HOW THEY MET: The couple first met when they were pupils at Braes High School, but never got together as boyfriend and girlfriend. Just pals at school, they became an item when they met up again five years ago.
THE PROPOSAL: Stuart popped the question to Katie in the living room while they were watching ‘The Chase’ on television. He waited until the show went to commercials. Katie said: “It was all a bit of a rush by the time he asked me because he had organised a dinner out with parents to celebrate and time was getting on.”
THE WEDDING: Katie and Stuart were married in the Park Hotel, Falkirk on September 20, 2014. The marriage ceremony was performed by Katie’s mum Evelyn Robertson, who is a Falkirk registrar. On the day 120 guests enjoyed the ceremony, with a further 30 coming along to the venue at night.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Best man was Greg Stirling and bridesmaids were Katie’s sisters Kirsty and Karen. The couple’s daughter Evie Anderson was the flowergirl.
THE DRESS: Katie wore a strapless Maggie Sottero dress which featured a long train.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple booked a week in Tenerife just after their wedding and had a terrific time.
