The wedding of Karen Gormley and Gareth Hunter

THE COUPLE: Karen (40) comes from Grangemouth and is a trading law colleague at Asda, while Gareth (32) comes from Bo’ness and works in industrial services. The couple live in Avonbridge with children Nathan (13) and Aaron (7).

HOW THEY MET: The couple first met through the girlfriend of Gareth’s brother on a night out 10 years ago.

THE PROPOSAL: Gareth hid the engagement ring in a tiny Christmas box, secreted inside a series of larger boxes. When Karen finally found the ring she said yes.

THE WEDDING: The wedding took place at Callendar House in Falkirk on October 18 with 60 guests during the day doubling to 120 at the night time reception in Grangemouth’s Leapark Hotel. Karen said: “It was a great day and I want to do it again - but we can’t afford it.”

THE WEDDING PARTY: Karen’s bridesmaids were Tracey Gormley and Lorraine Keigan. Gareth’s best man was brother Christopher Hunter. Children Nathan and Aaron were pageboys and Khira Keigan was flowergirl.

THE DRESS: Karen wore a long dress with a sweetheart neckline and a train with embellished embroidery.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple enjoyed five great days in Spain.

THANKS: The couple thank Gareth’s mum and family, Karen’s uncle and everyone else who came to the big day.
