The wedding of Emma Knox and Iain MacIver

THE COUPLE: Emma is 39 and from West Lothian, and Iain is 50 and from Clydebank. Emma and Iain both work as civil servants and the newlyweds live in Shieldhill.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met through work around seven years ago.

THE PROPOSAL: Iain proposed
 to Emma on her birthday last year. The couple had just woken up in the morning and Iain had an engagement ring under the bed. Emma said she was really 
surprised but delighted to 
accept.

THE WEDDING: The wedding took place on November 23, 2013, at Orocco Pier in South Queensferry. There were 52 guests at the ceremony and a total of 120 in the evening. Emma said it was a fantastic day with beautiful blue skies. The couple really enjoyed getting their pictures taken at the harbour.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Emma’s bridesmaids were her best friend Heather Sutherland and Iain’s daughter Rebecca, known as Bex (15). The best man was Iain’s younger brother Stuart, and the ring bearer was Iain’s nephew, 12-year-old Aaron MacIver. The flower girls were Iain’s daughter Anna (9) and his niece Morgan (9).

THE DRESS: Emma wore a goddess-style dress which she bought in London. It was a detailed bodice and flowing chiffon skirt.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent the night in Norton House Hotel before flying to Belfast. They are
hoping to get away to the sun soon.
