The wedding of Elaine Faulds and Gordon Kerr
THE COUPLE: Elaine is 23 and an A and E nurse at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, and Gordon (25) is a joiner in Falkirk. The couple live in Larbert.
HOW THEY MET: The couple met about seven years ago. Elaine worked in Twice the Spice takeaway in Larbert and Gordon was a regular pakora customer!
THE PROPOSAL: Gordon popped the question when Elaine was 18. It was just before Christmas and the couple had been talking about buy a ring as a gift. Elaine was surprised when Gordon decided that it should be an engagement ring. It was on the same date Gordon’s parents got engaged years before.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on June 23, 2013, at Gean House in Alloa. There were 50 days guests and over 100 for the evening celebrations. Elaine said that the day was perfect and thought the speeches were a real highlight for the couple. She said: “Everyone was in tears after the speeches, it was really nice.”
THE WEDDING PARTY: Elaine’s bridesmaid was her best friend Jillian MacDonald. The best man was Gordon Aitken, and the usher was Elaine’s younger brother Blair Faulds.
THE DRESS: Elaine loved her dress. It was purchased at Pamela Jayne Bridal and was decorated with lace and lots of detail. Elaine said: “I loved it. I’d lost weight for the wedding and it was definitely worth it.”
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds enjoyed a fantastic two-week cruise of the western Mediterranean. The couple loved seeing so many places and were treated like royalty.
