The wedding of Claire Trotter and Craig Rodger

THE COUPLE: Claire (27) and Craig (28) are both from Camelon and now live in Ochiltree Terrace with their 10-year-old son, Kyle. She is a urology secretary at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert and Craig works with a cavity wall insulation firm in Bathgate.

HOW THEY MET: They were introduced by mutual friends while still at school - 13 years ago!

THE PROPOSAL: In December 2003, Craig booked dinner and overnight stay in a plush Glasgow Hotel and, after their meal, dropped down on one knee to pop the question. Before she said ‘yes’ Craig explained her dad had already given the idea his blessing.

THE WEDDING: Between buying their house and raising their son they did not finally find the time to marry

until April 6. They said “I do” at a ceremony attended by 70 family and friends in Callendar House. At the reception in The Cladhan Hotel later they were joined by another 80 guests.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Claire’s bridesmaids were friends Julie George and Pamela Marchi and niece Sarah Trotter (17). Craig’s best men were Julie’s husband Leslie and Kyle. The flower girls were two more nieces, Sophie Trotter (8) and Morgan Ford (5,) while the ushers were William Barron, Ross Trotter, Steven Davidson, Darren Burns and Steven Ford.

THE DRESS: Claire wore a white strapless A-line creation with fitted diamante bodice and “quite long” train provided by Gwennes Wedding Boutique of Broxburn.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent a week in Cape Verde on the coast of West Africa.

THANKS: To both sets of parents for all their help making it a perfect day.
