The wedding of Ceilidh Grant and Andy Nathaniel
THE COUPLE: Ceilidh (27) is a teacher from Bo’ness and Andy (30) is an area sales manager from Carron. The couple live in Larbert.
HOW THEY MET: The couple met at the 21st birthday party of a mutual friend in 2007.
THE PROPOSAL: Andy popped the question during a break in Amsterdam. They stopped at a bench by one of the city’s famous canals where Andy proposed with a ring he’d picked himself. Ceilidh said: “I was totally shocked, I had no idea he was planning to propose during the trip, but I was delighted.”
THE WEDDING: Ceilidh and Andy were married on December 28, 2013, at Carriden Parish Church in Bo’ness in front of 100 guests. They held their reception at Glenskirlie House in Banknock, with 30 extra guests joining them in the evening. Ceilidh said: “The day was just perfect, it wasn’t until it was all over we realised how smoothly everything had gone. The day just passes in a flash.”
THE WEDDING PARTY: Bridesmaids were Linzi Ferrier, Pamela Harris, Kellie Barr, Hollie Gibson and Ceilidh’s sister Lisa Grant-Smith. Best men were Andrew Sturrock and Craig Lawrence with ushers Derek Robertson, Craig Small and Andy’s brother Thomas Nathaniel.
THE DRESS: Ceilidh wore a strapless lace dress with a long train and simple crystal and pearl embellishment on the bust.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent a chilly New Year in Prague and hope to get away again in the summer for a beach holiday.
