The wedding of Alana-Marie McPherson and Ryan Thomas Morrison
THE COUPLE: Alana is 23 and a trainee accountant in Grangemouth, and Ryan is 31 and a lab technician based in Stirling. The newlyweds live in Denny.
HOW THEY MET: The couple met on a night out in Stirling about four years ago. Alana said that it was not too romantic as they had both had a bit too much to drink.
THE PROPOSAL: Ryan popped the question two-and-a-half years ago when the couple were having dinner in Glasgow. She said she was not expecting it at all and was so shocked and surprised she could barely speak to accept.
THE WEDDING: The wedding took place in Mexico on July 2, 2013 when 33 guests made the trip to watch the couple marry. An evening reception was held in Stirling Rugby Club on July 27 when around 200 guests celebrated with the newlyweds. Alana said that the couple loved both their weddings!
THE WEDDING PARTY: The bridesmaids were Alana’s sister Kaitlyn McPherson, Alana’s cousin Rachel McLaren and the bride’s friends Natalie and Laura Kane. The best man was Ryan’s brother, Ross, and the ushers were the groom’s friends Gordon Clark and Michael Glowacki. The reception’s page boy was Ryan’s nephew Isa Akram, and the flower girls were Ellie and Rhiana Hall, Alana’s cousin’s daughters.
THE DRESS: Alana’s dress was a strapless, sweetheart neck gown with diamante belt and full skirt.
THE HONEYMOON: As the couple were already in Mexico, they stayed on for their honeymoon.
THANKS: Massive thanks go to both sets of parents, Clare and Danny McPherson and Eileen and Eric Morrison, and to family and friends for making the day so special.
