The wedding of Carrie Thomson and David Leask
HOW THEY MET: Carrie was working at a town centre bar in Falkirk in December 2007 when David got chatting to her and plucked up the courage to ask for her number.
THE PROPOSAL: David decorated the couple’s house with candles one night in March 2011 and got down on one knee when Carrie returned home. Carrie said she was shocked but was delighted to accept.
THE WEDDING: The couple were married on October 23, 2012, in the garden of Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, in front of 30 friends and family who had flown over the ceremony. Carrie said the entire day was fabulous and was over too quickly. Once the couple returned home from their honeymoon they held a party for 220 guests at The Beancross on November 10.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Carrie’s friends Lisa Fraser, Justine Davidson and Leanne McMahon were bridesmaids. David’s friend Craig Johnson acted as his best man.
THE DRESS: Carrie bought her dress from Poppy’s Bridal Boutique in Bothwell. It was an ivory, strapless princess gown.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple flew direct from Las Vegas to spend a week in Cancun, Mexico.
THANKS: To all friends and family who made the trip to Las Vegas. Special thanks to Leanne who flew from Australia, and to Carrie’s stepmum Margaret and David’s mum Karen.
