The wedding of Angela Rodger and Christopher Grenfell

THE COUPLE: Angela is a payroll specialist in Stirling and originally from Grangemouth, while Christopher is a manufacturing technician from Falkirk. The couple, both 24, now live in Newcarron.

HOW THEY MET: The pair met through a mutual friend in Falkirk in August 2010.

THE PROPOSAL: Christopher took Angela to the Dutch Inn for dinner in February 2011. He planned to propose in the restaurant but took cold feet in front of the other diners and instead when they went back to the car he produced a bag with a beautiful dress inside. Angela lifted it out to discover a ring underneath and said yes when he went down on one knee to propose.

THE WEDDING: The couple were married on February 16 in The Three Kings, Shieldhill in front of 84 guests, with a further 70 joining them in the evening. After the ceremony the newlyweds visited Angela’s grandad Alexander Clark (91) of Grangemouth who was unable to attend. Angela said it was a fabulous day with her only regret it was over too quick.

THE WEDDING PARTY; Angela’s sisters Nicola and Sharon Rodger were bridesmaids, along with her best friend Gemma Graham and Christopher’s sister Nicola Grenfell. Best man was the groom’s best friend Jaime Watson.

THE DRESS: Angela wore an elegant ivory gown with lace detailing on the bodice and back which she said made her feel like a princess.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple will fly out to Florida in July for a belated honeymoon.

THANKS: Special thanks to both sets of parents, Anne and Charles Rodger and Angela and Colin Grenfell, and to Angela’s bridesmaids for keeping her calm on the big day.
