The Wedding of Lisa Ferguson and Stephen McPhillips
HOW THEY MET: The couple have known each other for years, but got together through meeting up with friends.
THE PROPOSAL: Stephen whisked Lisa away to New York in August 2012 and proposed at the top of the Empire State Building at sunset. Stephen had already bought and ring, and Lisa was totally surprised.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on November 23, 2012, at Houston House Hotel in Uphall. There were 80 guests during the day and another 60 in the evening. A great time was had by all and the bride was thrilled with her surprise snow machine.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Lisa’s chief bridesmaid was Lorna Slattery, and the bridesmaids were Arianna Coia, and Lauren and Louise Kirk. The best man was Stephen’s dad, Brian, and the ushers were Lisa’s brother Mark and Stephen’s brother Ben.
THE DRESS: Lisa wore an off-white Alfred Angelo strapless gown. The dress had a layered skirt and was simple and classic. Lisa describes it as “very me”.
THE HONEYMOON: The newlyweds spent a few days up north and touring Scotland.
THANKS: Thanks go to the parents, Sandra and Jim Ferguson and Liliam and Brian McPhillips; Catherine Coleman at Houston House; and photographers Alan Peebles and Jim Stewart.
