The wedding of Charmaine Friel and Neil Jones

THE COUPLE: Charmaine Friel (38) from Grangemouth and Neil Jones (40) from Linlithgow.

HOW THEY MET: The couple met through work four years ago. Charmaine is an administrator with the fire service and Neil is a fireman. They both now work at Falkirk Fire Station.

THE PROPOSAL: It was a happy day although tinged with sadness. It was not a complete surprise for Charmaine as the couple had been talking about it for some time. Charmaine’s mum died in the August and Neil chose her mum’s birthday two months later to make the proposal which Charmaine thought really poignant.

THE WEDDING: They were married on September 9, 2013 in Inchyra Grange Hotel, Polmont in front of 17 close family, then other family and friends brought the number to 80 for the reception at night.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Charmaine’s bridesmaid was her best friend Ellen Paul and the best man was Paul Scott.

THE DRESS: Charmaine loved her dress which she described as gorgeous. It was white and simple in style, strapless with fitted bodice which was decorated with diamante and sparkles. The back was corset style and had a small train.

HONEYMOON: The couple spent ten days in Teneriffe.

THANKS: The couple thank Neil’s parents David and Janette Jones, Charmaine’s dad Matthew Friel, her best friend Ellen Paul who as well as being bridesmaid made the cake and favours, photographer Emma Gray, and all their friends who supported them.
