The wedding of Catherine Gallagher and Martin Nisbet
THE COUPLE: Catherine is 29 and a legal secretary with Russel and Aitken, and Martin is 29 and a software engineer in Edinburgh. The newlyweds, who are both from the area, live in Carron.
HOW THEY MET: The couple first met 10 years ago after mutual friends introduced them.
THE PROPOSAL: Martin popped the question in December 2006 during a night out at the Marriot Hotel in Edinburgh. The couple had discussed getting married but Catherine was still very surprised when Martin proposed with an engagement ring.
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on June 2 at Callendar House. There were 70 guests at the wedding, and a total of 150 family and friends at an evening reception in the Park Hotel. The couple loved the day which went perfectly.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Catherine’s bridesmaids were her sister Roisin Gallagher, and school friends Amanda Bryce, Susan Gray, Morven McGinlay and Nicola Boyle. The best man as Martin’s older brother David, and the two ushers were Catherine’s brother Daniel and Dave Exeter. The page boys were Declan and Kai Gallagher and the flower girls were Chloe Nisbet and Catalina Gallagher.
THE DRESS: Catherine wore a Ronald Joyce champagne gown with sweetheart neckline and crystal detailing.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple jetted off to Vegas and then Cancun.
