The birth of Ryan Ure

THE DETAILS: Ryan Ure was born at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 8.17 a.m. on February 7, 2014, weighing 7lb 4oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Llana is 29 and a nurse from Brightons and dad Derek (29) is a gas engineer with Falkirk Council. Ryan is the couple’s third baby and the family lives in Brightons.

THE PREGNANCY: The pregnancy was fine. With two older children to look after, Llana said that it flew by and that she barely had time to think about it.

THE BIRTH: Little Ryan arrived three days early. Llana had just done the weekly shopping and had sent husband Derek off to football training in the evening when her labour started. Derek had time to get home and have his dinner before the couple left for the hospital. Everything progressed well afterwards and mum and baby got home the same day.

THE BABY: Ryan is a great, contented wee baby. He is eating and sleeping well and is very happy to sit and listen to songs. His older brothers, Kyle (8) and Reiss (5), can’t get enough of him.

THE NAME: The couple knew they were having another boy. ‘Ryan’ was the only name that Llana really liked and one that Derek agreed with.

THE GRANDPARENTS: The baby is an adored third grandchild for Alan and Marion Keir of Brightons and Liz and Alf Ure of Westquarter. He is also a third great grandchild for John and Isa Grant of Westquarter.

THANKS: Special thanks go to all the staff at the hospital for their care and attention.
