The birth of Megan Jane May Henderson

THE DETAILS: Megan Jane May Henderson was born on May 18, 2013, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 5.23 a.m. weighing 6lb 12oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Johan Webster (29) is a nurse at Forth Valley Royal Hospital and dad Ryan Henderson (29) is a metering specialist off-shore. The couple live in Kinnaird Village with Megan’s big brother Jamie (10).

THE PREGNANCY: Johan’s pregnancy wasn’t great to start off with. She felt sick all the time, but then started to feel a bit better.

THE BIRTH: Baby Henderson was two weeks and two days early. Johan was in bed when her waters broke, and was only in hospital for 20 minutes before the baby was born. The birth all happened very quickly and very naturally with Johan not having time for painkillers. But mum said that Ryan was “brilliant” and was very calm and didn’t panic.

THE BABY: The baby is doing really well. She has been sleeping well through the night, but is a bit sick when she gets her milk. Megan has big smiles for all family and friends, especially her big brother.

THE NAME: Dad picked Megan as a name he liked, and it grew on Johan. The middle names of ‘Jane’ and ‘May’ are after Johan and Ryan’s grans.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Megan is a first grandchild for George and Linda Henderson of Larbert, and another grandchild for John and Nancy Webster of Carronshore.

THANKS: Special thanks go to midwives and staff at the hospital, especially the Bluebell team.
