The birth of Maisy Craig

THE PARENTS: Maisy’s mum and dad are Dawn Togher (25), an early years officer with Falkirk Council, and David Craig (26), an estimator with Hadden Construction. They live in Denny and Maisy has a big brother Oscar (3).

THE PREGNANCY: Dawn said the pregnancy went “perfectly” as content Maisy did not cause her any trouble at all. “It was really straightforward,” said Dawn. “I think I was really lucky with Maisy. It just went perfectly.”

THE BIRTH: Maisy was born four days past her due date despite Dawn having contractions for around two days before going into hospital. Dawn said: “The birth was really quick and once again it was all very straightforward. The midwife, Eleanor, was the same one we had with Oscar so were very lucky. She was amazing.”

THE BABY: Maisy is a really happy baby. She loves sitting and watching big brother Oscar as he moves about and she is starting to smile away.

THE NAME: The couple opted for the name Maisy in the hospital shortly after she was born. Oscar wanted her to be called Sophie.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Maisy is the second grandchild for Sheena and Jimmy Togher from Denny and Diane and Kevin Craig from Bonnybridge.

THANKS: The couple would like to thank midwife Eleanor, family and friends while Dawn thanks mum Sheena and David.
