The birth of Lewis Martin
THE DETAILS: Lewis Robert Phillip Martin was born on August 21, 2013, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 1.57 p.m. weighing 8lb 2oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Helen Martin (31) works for a trade union, while dad, Dr Craig R. Martin, is a local councillor with Falkirk Council. The couple live in New Carron with Lewis and their older son, two-year-old Michael.
THE PREGNANCY: Helen said that the pregnancy was really good. There were no problems at all, and it all went smoothly.
THE BIRTH: Little Lewis was five days early. Mum went into labour in the middle of the night and it all progressed pretty quickly after the couple arrived at the hospital. However, Helen and baby were well afterwards.
THE BABY: Lewis is doing very well, and is “massive” according to mum. He loves his food and is sleeping well at night. He likes to be on his playmat, but sometimes his older brother is a bit too noisy for him. Helen said: “Michael loves his little brother.”
THE NAME: The couple both really liked the name ‘Lewis’. Both middle names are after Lewis’s great grandfathers.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Lewis is a fifth grandchild for Craig and Senga Martin, and a 10th for Irene and Michael McGuigan.
THANKS: Special thanks go to the midwives at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
