The birth of James Andrew Alexander Sheach

THE DETAILS: James Andrew Alexander Sheach was born at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 11.03 p.m. on May 23 weighing 9lb 8oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Holly Cruickshank (31) is a primary school teacher and dad Alex Sheach (44) is a firefighter. James is the couple’s first baby and the family lives in Bo’ness.

THE PREGNANCY: Holly said that she had a very good pregnancy. She said that there were no problems at all.

THE BIRTH: Baby Sheach was a week late. Holly went into labour naturally, but, after a very long labour that ran to four day and because James was a bit larger than expected, an emergency section was carried out. Both mum and baby came through the operation well and were allowed home three days later.

THE BABY: James is doing very well. He is eating well and sleeps well at night. He loves going out for walks in the sunshine and the fresh air. He also likes to have a good look out the window when he’s at home.

THE NAME: ‘James’ was a name that the couple both liked and is Alex’s middle name. James’s middle names are those of both Holly’s and Alex’s dads.

THE GRANDPARENTS: James is a sixth grandchild for Margaret and Alex Sheach of Bo’ness and a second for Stella and Andrew Cruickshank of Dumfries and Galloway.

THANKS: Holly would like to say a special thank you to her partner Alex and also to all the couple’s family and friends, including those living in Falkirk.
