The birth of Jade Hebner
THE DETAILS: Jade Hebner was born at 12.55 p.m. on June 4, 2014, in Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital weighing 2lbs 4oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Linda Edwards (30) is a support worker from Falkirk and dad Aaron Hebner (35) is a mechanic originally from Aberdeen. The family lives in Victoria Road, Falkirk.
THE PREGNANCY: Things were fine for Linda and her twin babies up until 26 weeks when they discovered the blood flow to one baby was not sufficient. This led to Linda travelling back and forward to the Southern General for treatment and care.
THE BIRTH: Staff at Southern General decided to perform an emergency Caesarean section to deliver the twins girls. Jade, although premature, survived, but sadly Jasmine later died.
THE NAME: Jade was a name picked by Aaron that the couple both liked and was a perfect balance, as a name for a precious stone with Jasmine a flower and both names started with the letters ‘j’ and ‘a’.
THE BABY: Jade is a very happy, contented little girl who only cries when she is hungry and, from her traumatic early start in life, has now grown into a healthy 11lb 4oz.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Jade is the second grandchild for May Edwards of Falkirk and Barbara Da Costa of Kincardine and James Hebner of Basingstoke.
THANKS: The couple thank their family and friends and the hospital staff for all their help and support during a difficult time.
