The birth of Haris Ali
THE DETAILS: Haris Ali was born in Forth Valley Hospital at 10.16 a.m. on May 24, weighing 4lb 6oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Anisa Ali (30) works at Asda distribution depot in Falkirk while dad Shabaz Ali (30) owns the Redding Costcutter shop. Haris has a big sister Nyah (12) and brother Adam (7) and the family live in Reddingmuirhead.
THE PREGNANCY: Anisa was fine throughout her pregnancy, only suffering occasional headaches. “Neighbours didn’t even know I was pregnant, my bump was so small,” she said.
THE BIRTH: Anisa went to the out of hours GP complaining of headaches and was told she was suffering from pre-eclampsia. She was taken into theatre for an emergency cesarean section because Haris had stopped breathing. Nine minutes later he came into the world and was able to breathe and feed without help.
THE BABY: After his dramatic arrival in the world Haris is now a happy, healthy 10lb 5oz baby and sleeping throughout the night.
THE NAME: Haris sounds Scottish, but, with the ‘r’ removed, is actually a muslim name - the perfect combination for Anisa and Shabaz and something which would please both sides of the family.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Haris is the eighth grandchild for Sheena and Mark Morrell of Grangemouth and the 10th for Surria and Safdar Ali of Redding.
THANKS: Anisa and Shabaz thank all the staff at FVRH who helped bring Haris safely into the world and to their parents for their support.
