The birth of David Robert Bell
THE DETAILS: David Robert Bell was born at 11.56 a.m. on October 16, 2013, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital weighing 12lb 15.5oz.
THE PARENTS: Mum Dawn (26), originally from Grangemouth, works as a carer and in a bar, and dad Graeme Bell is a car mechanic. The couple live in Bo’ness with David’s big brother and sister, Darryn (6) and Sophie (4).
THE PREGNANCY: Unfortunately, Dawn didn’t have a good pregnancy at all. She developed diabetes, had a lot of sickness and was on crutches. She also had frequent visits to the hospital for growth scans.
THE BIRTH: The birth was a planned c-section. The delivery went well although, the next day, baby David was taken to the neo-natal unit as he was having trouble breathing. He was on oxygen for the next three weeks getting treatment for a premature lung.
THE BABY: David is a very contented baby. His brother and sister adore him and regularly fight over who can do the most for him. David loves kisses and being entertained by his sister.
THE NAME: ‘David’ is after Dawn’s dad, and ‘Robert’ is after Graeme’s dad.
THE GRANDPARENTS: David is a third grandchild for Janice and David McCreadie of Grangemouth, and a third for Alison and Robert Bell of Grangemouth.
THANKS: Special thanks go to Arlene Forsyth from the neo-natal unit, and to all the “aunties” who looked after David while he was in the hospital.
