The birth of Cody Gavin Neil Campbell

THE DETAILS: Cody Gavin Neil Campbell was born at 3.35 a.m. on December 31, 2013, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital weighing 8lb.

THE PARENTS: Mum Claire Bowie (27) is a domestic cleaner in Callander and dad Gavin Neil Campbell (32) is a tyre fitter. The couple live in Bonnybridge.
Cody is the couple’s first baby together, but a second for Gavin who has an older daughter, nine-year-old Emma.

THE PREGNANCY: Claire said the pregnancy was fine and everything went well.

THE BIRTH: Baby Campbell arrived four days late. He had been due on December 27, but decided to make his appearance on Hogmanay. Claire went into labour naturally at home and it all progressed well. Claire was fine afterwards and was out looking for a takeaway just 20 hours after the birth.

THE BABY: Cody is a very happy baby. He sleeps for up to 10 hours during the night but keeps mum busy during the day. He loves attention and is full of stories.

THE NAME: Claire had always liked the name Cody, but when she saw it engraved in cement in a playpark while she was pregnant she took that as a sign that she had picked the right name. Cody’s middle names are after his dad.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Cody is a fifth grandchild for Fiona and William Campbell of Doune.

THANKS: Special thanks go to the Tulip team and the midwives at the hospital.
