The birth of Ashleigh Helen Myhill
THE PARENTS: Mum Catherine Myhill (29) works in sales support with the Prudential in Stirling, while dad John Myhill (32) works for the same company as an account manager. This is their first baby and the family lives in Stenhousemuir
THE PREGNANCY: Everything was fine until the 29th week when Catherine felt unwell and went to hospital.
THE BIRTH: Things happened very quickly as doctors discovered the mum-to-be was suffering from HELLP Syndrome. Although she wasn’t due until January 24, four hours after arriving at hospital on November 12, Catherine was given a Caeserian section. She said: “It was all very quick and the staff were fantastic. Ashleigh was in intensive care for five weeks then a week in special care. We got her home on December 23 when she weighed 4lb 10oz.”
THE BABY: “She’s great and very content,” said mum.
THE NAME: The couple were convinced Catherine was having a boy and had no girls names chosen but after a couple of days agreed Ashleigh was a name they liked. Helen is after Catherine’s gran.
THE GRANDPARENTS: Ashleigh is a first grandchild for Helen and Robert Wright of Stenhousemuir and a fifth for Linda Myhill of Reading.
THANKS: The couple would like to thank all the grandparents and a massive thank you to the neonatal team at Forth Valley Royal.
