The birth of Mia May Lowe

THE DETAILS: Mia May Lowe was born on January 15 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital at 3.42 a.m. weighing 7lb 9oz.

THE PARENTS: Mum Julie Sinclair (30) is a betting shop manager, while dad William Lowe is a project quality engineer. Mia is the couple’s first baby and the family live in Redding.

THE PREGNANCY: Unfortunately, Julie was sick every day of her pregancy, but, apart from that, it all went smoothly.

THE BIRTH: Baby Lowe eventually arrived four days late, despite Julie first experiencing contractions on her due date. Julie finally went into hospital when the pain got too much and the baby was born naturally.

THE BABY: Mia is a “perfect” baby, according to her mum. She sleeps right through the night and is no problem at all. She loves ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’ on Disney Junior and has done since she was just a few weeks old.

THE NAME: Both Julie and William really liked the name Mia as they thought it was unusual and delicate. The couple’s two grandmothers on the fathers’ side of their families were named ‘May’.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Mia is a fourth grandchild for Margaret and William Lowe of Dunfermline, and a first for Ann and Owen Sinclair of Shieldhill.

THANKS: Special thanks go to both sets of families for all their help and support before and after the birth, as well as to the new aunt and uncles, and the Poppy team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
